FDI 2016 Poznań, Poland

PRELIMINARY PROGRAMME

FDI 2016 POZNAN: an exceptional congress and dazzling exhibition in a lively, historic city – a trip to enjoy and remember.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming delegates from all over the world to the historic city of Poznań, Poland, for the 2016 FDI Annual World Dental Congress (AWDC) in September 2016.

This year’s international scientific programme is particularly rich and varied, featuring 57 distinguished speakers from 26 countries, including 8 from Poland. The national programme features 22 Polish experts, with lectures simultaneously translated into English. Three ‘Hot Topic’ sessions have also been programmed: Periodontics; Implantology and The Overuse of Antibiotics.

Now in its 104th year, the AWDC is one of the world’s oldest international events, created by one of the world’s oldest medical-sector organizations, and a must attend in the dental calendar.

Characterized as ‘intentionally international”, it has acquired a reputation as a meeting point for exchanging of ideas and transferring knowledge, regularly bringing together renowned speakers from over 30 countries. It also hosts the World Oral Health Forum to debate the burning issues of oral health policy and practice.

While you are in the conference centre, we recommend visiting the dental exhibition – a dazzling display of the latest oral health products and technologies spread over some 5000 sq metres, comprising 9 national pavilions and over 250 individual booths. The World Dental Exhibition has been an integral part of the FDI Annual World Dental Congress ever since 1929, when an Oral Health

Exhibition first took place in association with the 23rd FDI Annual Session in Utrecht (Netherlands). Dental exhibitions play an essential role for dentists and other oral health practitioners. Where else than at a dental exhibition can you find and examine the latest in technology and products to recommend to your patients?

The Poznań Congress Center is a modern conference, exhibition, sporting and entertainment centre. Every year it organizes 2000 congresses, conferences and special events, attended by around half a million participants from around the globe.

Poznań is a pleasant and dynamic city of some 650,000 inhabitants, plus 120,000 university students in term time. It is situated half-way between Berlin and Warsaw, with easy access by air, rail and road and has numerous tourist attractions. It offers unique facilities: a centrally situated Congress Center, an extremely well-developed city-wide transport system, a large range of excellent accommodation within the vicinity of the Congress Center and strong support from the city authorities.

We hope that you will enjoy your stay in Poznań and that you will also have the opportunity to visit other parts of Poland and experience the hospitality of the Polish people, a country of striking panoramas, fascinating cultural sites and museums and charming towns and villages.

We look forward to seeing you in Poznań, from 7 to 10 September 2016
