The dental world says: “See you in Poznań!”
Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, was the first point of call on our international tour promoting the FDI Annual World Dental Congress, which will take place in Poznań on 7-10 September 2016. “We can say without any exaggeration that we have managed to win the hearts of dentists from all of the world,” claims Professor Bartłomiej W. Loster, President of FDI AWDC Poznań 2016.
The promotional stand for the Congress, which attracted a great deal of attention, the interesting information materials, and most importantly, a team of able, smiling people who provided answers to a wide range of questions from participants at FDI AWDC in Bangkok, were key factors contributing to the success of the first ever promotional event for the Poznań congress in the international arena.
“Our stand was visited by people from the majority of countries that are members of FDI, and there are after all more than 200 of them. This bodes well for the Congress in Poznań,” reckons Professor Bartłomiej W. Loster, President of FDI AWDC Poznań 2016.
They came to the stand to ask about flight connections to Poznań, hotel facilities, prices and the weather. Many dentists had already decided long before to attend the Poznań Congress and they only approached us to ask for advice on any specific tourist attractions they should see in Poland. Nobody left the stand “empty handed”. Most interest was shown in our “See you in Poznań” magazine and our info catalogues on different cities in Poland.
”For many dentists attendance at the FDI Congress has become a permanent fixture in their diaries for years, to the extent that some of them plan their choice of holiday destinations around the location of the Congress – adds Professor Honorata Shaw, the main coordinator of the Congress.
One formal event in Bangkok designed to promote the future Congress was the Polish Lunch. More than 200 people learned about Polish food and flavours (dishes taking centre stage included Polish meatballs, stuffed cabbage, Polish dumplings and sour rye flour soup). Most of the participants were members of the World Dental Federation, including the new president of FDI, Dr. Patrick Hescot, as well as representatives from companies presenting their products. Another factor that did much to encourage people to visit Poznań was the brief welcoming address from the Polish ambassador in Bangkok, Zenon Kuchciak. His delivery was so convincing that some of our guests said they wished diplomats from their own countries were as capable of performing their own duties as Mr Kuchciak was.
”We are prepared to cater for over 250 exhibitors in the halls of the Poznań International Fair. Some of the companies in Bangkok have already confirmed they will be attending and we will be talking with others at further upcoming major dental events throughout the world," says Ewa Mastalerz from the Exactus company.
In the coming months the Congress in Poznań will be promoted at more than 20 different trade events taking place at such venues as Dubai (AEEDC) and Paris (ADF) up to Los Angeles (AADR). Information desks for FDI ADWC Poznań 2016 will also be present at the most important gatherings for dentists in Poland.

The 104th FDI Annual World Dental Congress will take place in Poznań on 7 – 10 September 2016. This prestigious event will feature outstanding speakers from the world of science based both in Poland and abroad combined with an exhibition of dental equipment and materials from around the globe.
In addition, the Congress will feature a debate of the FDI Parliament on various aspects of global policy on prevention and treatment in dentistry. In the last few years the congress has been hosted by India, Turkey, China, Mexico, Brazil, Singapore, and Thailand. Poland will be organising the event for the first time in its history. The congress hosts, i.e. The Polish Dental Association, The Polish Chamber of Dentists and Physicians, Exactus and the Poznań International Fair, expect more than 12,000 participants to come to Poznań.
